Ken Field: HONK! for Street Bands

Ken FieldHONK! Festival in Somerville and Cambridge, Massachusetts brings together dozens of street bands to have a great time and raise awareness about the social and political issues that affect us all.

In this podcast we talk with Ken Field, one of the volunteer organizers who put together the concerts, parades, and symposiums that take place over the weekend of October 4th. Ken reflects on the motivations that bring so many different people together, the joy that music in public spaces can bring to a community, and ways that you can help HONK house and feed the musicians who participate.
