Julie-anne Saroyan: Dancing on the Small Stage

Julie-anne SaroyanJulie-anne Saroyan is Artistic Producer of Dances for a Small Stage, an up-close view of the contemporary dance scene in Vancouver. Julie-anne has produced many dance events, including all installments of the MovEnt Dances for a Small Stage. She has worked with many dancers and companies including Ballet BC, Lola Dance, and Margie Gillis among others.

In this podcast she talks about how artists approach the challenge of a confined space, why this space forces artists to stay honest and present, and what parameters have been set for this year’s performances. Dances for a Small Stage is part of the PuSh International Performing Arts Festival.
