The Shaw Festival takes place in Niagara-on-the-Lake, about twenty five minutes outside Niagara Falls, Ontario. It is the perfect setting to enjoy the dramatic talent of George Bernard Shaw. Well preserved historic buildings, Fort George and the Niagara Wine Region beckon you to make your festival experience a multi-day vacation.

The festival has helpfully put together several vacation packages that include festival tickets, hotels and pre-theatre dinner at one of the 50 wineries in the area. This recipe for Baked Pears with Wine and Walnut Cream is an excellent way to end a winery meal, and its rich audacity would surely have the approval of George Bernard Shaw.
