If you are headed to TBA: 11 you are in for a treat when it comes to food. This mid-sized city boasts one of the best food scenes on the West Coast. Whether it’s a farmer’s market, food truck or coffee shop, your experience is bound to be delicious.

Much of what is now Portland was orchard lands.Thousands of fruit trees still thrive throughout the city and every Fall the Portland Fruit Tree Project coordinates the harvesting of apples, plums, persimmons and figs. Participants learn to harvest, care for the trees and preserve and cook. This lovely recipe for Roasted Figs with Gorgonzola and Prosciutto di Parma is a great way to enjoy the harvest. Pair it with an Oregon pinot noir and you’ll be all set.
