The annual Karachi Literature Festival celebrated its inaugural edition in 2010 as a free and open festival— the first of its kind in Pakistan. The programming includes readings, lectures, book launches, signings, writing workshops, debates and discussions, a book fair, children’s storytelling, and much more. The participating authors include national and international writers — Pakistani, English, German and French, as well as Urdu, Sindhi, Punjabi, and Seraiki. Each year the festival continues to grow it’s audiences and bringing more and more authors.
In addition to the main festival program there is also a jury of Pakastan-based individuals who select a winner of the Karachi Literature Festival Prize. The cultural events also include music, dance and theater arts that are connected to literature, film screenings, and puppetry.
|Festival Dates||February 15 - 17, 2013|
