Festival Description

The West Texas Book Festival serves to recognize authors, publishers and readers from throughout Texas and to highlight the importance of reading and literacy. The festival features the talented local and area authors.

Events include a Cookbook Gala (features Texas’ finest chefs and vintners paired with cookbook authors), a Culinary Cuisine Luncheon (the meal is prepared by the Texas State Technical College Culinary Institute in conjunction with a program that includes the participating authors from the Cookbook Gala), and the Boots and Books Luncheon (features Texas authors and includes presentations). The festival raises funds to benefit the Abilene Public Library and its programs.

Festival Dates September 18 - 22, 2012
