Al Williams, Founder
The legendary jazz festival had its roots set in the area back in 1978 and was known as the Queen Mary Jazz Festival. In 1987 the festival changed its name to Long Beach Jazz Festival and was once again headed up by founder Al Williams — who also performs at the festival.
The festival’s longstanding home is at the Rainbow Lagoon Park and has cemented itself as a friendly family-oriented festival where audiences come back year after year and pass the torch to their children to carry on the family tradition of attending the event. The lineup offers an all star attraction of jazz legends and rising talents.
