The competition is organized every two years and managed by the City of Gaillard, supported by the regional government and the various sponsors. The Honorary President of the International Adilia Alieva Piano Competition is always at the same time President or Member of the Institute de France and Academy of Fine Arts. The institution is the most important and prestigious authority in Fine Art and music in France.
Since 1998, Marcel Landowski was named Chancellor of the Institute de France. The Chancellor of the Institute de France is managing the Institute of France, five academies, including the Academy of Fine Arts. His candidacy is approved by the President of France. Since 2008, Laurent Petitgirard is the actual President of Academy of Fine Arts.
The Competition was widely covered by press, radio, TV from France, Switzerland, Russia, Azerbaijan and other countries. At the 8th contest 304 candidates from 32 countries participated. After the préliminaire round, 59 candidates (from United States, Europe, Brazil, Japan, Australia, South Korea, China, and so on. …) were chosen and invited to come to Gaillard to perform in the Semi-Finals and Finals.

International concert pianist, Ms. Adilia Alieva, is president of the Jury of Adilia Alieva International Piano Competition in France. Among a great number of concerts, Ms. ALIEVA also had concerts at the International Festival of Music in Lucerne, Royal Palace Music Festival in Stockholm, Sibelius Music Festival in Finland, Rheingau Music Festival in Wiesbaden, International Flanders Festival in Belgium, BBC Summer Invitation Concerts and BBC Radio 3 Invitation Concerts on the Sonorities Festival and BBC Radio 3 Invitation Concerts on the “Scriabin Plus!” series as part of the Sounding the Century series in Belfast/England, she made records for BBC Radio Ulster, recital in Amsterdam at Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra Concert series, concert at Concertgebow de Dolen in Rotterdam at Academia Nationale di Santa Cecilia in Roma /Italy etc….
More than 200 different radios and TV stations from England (BBC), Germany (Deutschland Funk etc.), Belgium (RTBF, BRT), Switzerland (DRS, RSI, RSR etc.), Sweden, Norway, Finland (YLE), Denmark (P2 etc.), Iceland, Holland, France (TV FR3 etc.), Russia etc. broadcasted programmes about her art. Many documentary films have been made which were selected for international film festivals in Biarritz/France, also in Moscow, Tokyo, St. Petersbourg, broadcasted TV of: France, Suisse, Poland, Azerbaidjan, Russia, Finnish TV YLE and TV from other countries. She has already made 30 CDs, DVDs with piano solo, chamber music, also with different orchestras for record company MELODIA, ASB CLASSICS, for Swiss record companies GALLO, Disc Office. Most of contemporary compositions on the one of CDs, “Adilia ALIEVA plays piano” were written especially for her. Also she recorded CD for EMI CLASSICS with concertos for piano and orchestra by: BLOCH, W. MUSTAFA-ZADE, and SCHOSTAKOVICH in Portugal. One of her CD with Suisse music (3 quintets by Bloch, Briquet, F. Martin), which was recorded for Records Company CASCAVELLE, received 5 diapasons at “Diapason” and also in “Repertoir”.
Ms. ALIEVA has interpreted a great number of world premieres by such composers as E. DENISSOW, A. KHACHATURIAN, K. KARAEV, B. TCHAIKOVSKY, David BYERS, Rodion SCHEDRIN etc. Articles from newspapers about concerts of Ms. Adilia ALIEVA from different countries:
