Festival Description

Expect to find something new and different at the Ypsilanti Heritage Festival with something for every member of the family. The programming includes an electrifying lineup of music, beer, food, vendors, family activities, the return of the Heritage casino, and more. And it’s all still free! So mark your calendars and come down to Riverside Park for the best summer festival in Ypsilanti.

Kick off events 2013:
  • The festival will kick off with the 2013 Opening Reception presented by Gene Butman Ford at the Girl Scouts Heart of Michigan building in Ypsilanti Township on August 8. This year’s event will feature a collection of vintage Ypsilanti Heritage Festival posters, classic Ford vehicles and a menu highlighting some of Ypsilanti’s newest and most popular establishments, including Red Rock BBQ, The Wurst Bar, Bona Sera Cafe, Riki Tiki Pies and more.

    • Traditional arts and crafts vendors
    • SolarYpsi 6KW Solar Demonstration
    • Robotics Demonstration
    • An art installation by Community Rebirth located in Depot Town
Family and youth activities 2013:
  • We’ve totally revamped our traditional family area with more crafts, activities, and new family performers joining all of your favorites. We’ve also expanded the Noise Permit! youth program presented by our partners at Ozone House and 826Michigan, plus a ton of kid and family activities in the living history area and throughout the park. There will be Michigan craft beer. Most important, the festival, all the entertainment, and all of the family activities are still 100% FREE after 35 years, Returning Ypsilanti festival favorites include the Ypsilanti Heritage Festival Parade on Saturday, August 18, Chautauqua at the Riverside, the historical home, garden and museum walking tours, the Native American Encampment and Pow Wow Demonstrations, the Ducky Race and more!
