Festival Description

The festival is is organized by Africans and dedicated to all the African Diaspora residing in Europe and the world — let’s get together and celebrate our dynamic culture and values. It is time to manage for ourselves, it is time to share and to take pride in being African — now is the time to in Tubingen!

All our programs have been drawn with an authentic flare of our culture, taste and elegance, so come all and experience the real African culture of music, culture, poetry, food, sports, Fashion etc… All traders are encouraged to register and benefit from our reasonable fair-stand prices and a huge population of visitors from different backgrounds.

The African Diaspora is taking responsibility and making a difference by getting involved in activities that will promote and re-brand AFRICA. The festival offers a time to get together for the future of our continent, to take pride in being African. A large-scale initiative leads to solidarity for one another makes us stronger. It is action time — no more theory, no more critics, no more individualism… it’s a new generation of positive thinkers for AFRICA, supporting and making visible the vision and being Ambassadors for our dear continent. The open-air Festival features a program of sports and events, a business & social forum, a charity cala night, music, poetry, and a disco night featuring guest artist.

Programming 2013:
  • This event promises a multi-dimensional exploration of interplay of authentic African culture and lifestyle with 150 artists featuring fresh sounds and voices: Ngoma Africa Band, Soweto Entsha, Wamali percussions, street arts, workshops and culinary expression.
  • The Festival once again invites artist and audiences of all ages to experience African music, arts, culture and party, a mélange between traditional and modern Africa, bringing African hip-hop, Bongo Dansi, Kwaito, Afro-Pop, soukouss and African movies on the international stage Festival highlights will include a grandiose opening ceremony lead by African children & youths, celebrities, African ambassadors rep. in Germany under the chairman ship of the Ghana Ambassador, program for families, panel discussion and late night events — the biggest African party in Germany, Stuttgart on Saturday night from 22 o’clock (10:00pm) featuring celebrities and Sunday will be special day for family with a special church and Gospel day and closing ceremony.
  • Visual art is at the focus on our Festival and this year the African royal ballet is visiting all the way from Mali featuring Djiby & Basy Kouyate, dance styles and moves to support and build schools in Mali, Christoffel-Blindemission project helping the blind to see in Africa, bongob trust and many more.
