Festival Story:

The original Texas Crawfish & Music Festival was held in the spring of 1986 in the streets of Historic Old Town Spring where patrons were able to tour local shopping outlets, enjoy crawfish and other Cajun and Southern flavors provided by local eateries, both in the street and inside restaurants, and hear great music from a variety of local bands.

By 1996, the festival grew too large for Main Street so producers decided to move the official festival site into Preservation Park where they were able to expand food and shopping vendors and incorporate interactive games and educational stations as well as a large, multi-ride carnival and midway games to enhance the event. In addition, three stages were added in order to showcase nation, regional and local acts from a variety of musical genres including country/Texas country, blues, bluegrass and zydeco. Over the years, producers have altered the programming in order to diversify the crowd and
include rock and alt rock acts, showcasing top touring national and regional bands as well as provide a rare platform for local talent to perform. Musical highlights of the past 25 years include: Clint Black, Pat Green, Honeybrowne, Wade Bowen, Ray Wylie Hubbard, Bon Ton Mickey & the Zydeco Hot-Steppers, Leroy Thomas & The Zydeco Roadrunners, Rebirth Brass Band, Burden Brothers, King’s X, Cowboy Mouth, Hayes Carll and Bob Schneider.
