Festival Description

Electric Zoo takes place over Labor Day weekend, where over 110,000 music lovers and over 125 of the world’s best DJs and artists perform at Randall’s Island Park in New York City for two sold-out days. 2013 sees the addition of a second Main Stage. Cool breezes and hot beats are as abundant as electronic music styles, including techno, trance, house, dubstep, electro and more. Artists have included The Chemical Brothers, Armin van Buuren, Axwell, Bassnectar, Moby, Major Lazer, Pretty Lights and Richie Hawtin. Not to mention the variety of food choices — from Miss Softee’s specialty “electric cone,” ice cream topped with Pop Rocks to Pizza Moto’s wood-fired pizza — which all came together as a true celebration of the today’s global dance music culture and a raging success for the festival’s second year.

Artist feature 2013:
  • Cassy (UK)
    Performance — Sunday, August 30, 2013
It is rare for any artist to hold almost universal respect and admiration from the house music community. Cassy Britton has effortlessly managed to garner this over the course of her career via a revered discography, critically acclaimed compilations for Cocoon and Panoramabar, and countless exceptional performances across the globe. Currently holding residencies at four of the world’s leading venues; Panoramabar in Berlin, Trouw in Amsterdam, Rex Club in Paris, and now Output in Brooklyn, NYC, it is clear that Cassy’s artistic nous has a global reach. The roots of this story lay in Catherine Britton’s well-documented childhood. Born in London to a Caribbean father and Austrian mother, Cassy moved to Vienna at an early age. Surrounded by the ghosts of legendary composers in a city steeped in music history, Cassy’s love for music and the arts was nurtured by her parents. For more information visit
