The Two Shores of the Sea (Adriatic) represented the confrontation between the occidental and asian civilizations. The Italian shore on one side, with its history so strongly European. The oriental shore on the other side, rich in history, culture, diversity and creativity. The Adriatic Sea has permitted the encounter and the exchange of ideas, cultures and different traditions. The countries facing the Adriatic—Balkan region, Greek and Turkish interact and together have developed the concept of “Adriatic culture”.
A diverse and rich program has been offered at Due Sponde un Mare Festival which began in Termoli in 2004 with the intention of presenting the new artistic creativity of the Adriatic Sea, creating a cultural bridge between the two banks and making the Adriatic Sea a melting pot of ideas and creativity. The Due Sponde un Mare features ten days of concerts, exhibitions, dance and theatre performances, shows, cinema, and debates. More than 70 artists will be taking part in this year’s edition—coming from Italy, Croatia, Slovenia, Albania, Greece, Austria, Bulgaria, Kosovo, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Montenegro, Serbia and Macedonia.
