Europejski Festiwal im. Jana Kiepury
The festival’s artistic program consists of opera and operetta performances, symphonic concerts, ballet and theatrical spectacles, proms, and presentations of films featuring Jan Kiepura. In total, 1,000 artists will perform during the two week festival, and our 24 spectacles will attract an audience of approximately 60,000 people from all over Poland and Europe, as well as America and Australia. Millions of viewers worldwide will be able to participate in the Festival events thanks to the television coverage, which includes a live broadcast.
The main Festival venue is the spacious hall of the Central Pump Room in Krynica, holding around 1000 listeners. Stage spectacles and recitals are held in the theatre house, seating around 500 people. Since 2004, the Festival concerts have also been held in various Polish cities and outside Poland, in the form of FESTIVAL STOPOVERS. The first historical Stopover was organised in the Main Square in Cracow for an audience of 60,000, performances in Toronto and Trzebinia soon followed.
