Jesienny Festiwal Muzyczny “Alkagran”
Autumn Music Festival “Alkagran” has taken place in Czechowice - Dziedzice annually since 1991. It is dedicated to the memory of the composer and accordionist Andrzej Krzanowski. The name of the festival is an acronym, consisting of the first syllables of Andrzej’s closest relatives put together (his daughter Aleksandra, son Kamil, wife Grażyna, and Andrzej – the composer’s first name).
The inaguration of the festival took place to commemorate the first anniversary of the composer’s death. The festival’s original name was Musical Meetings of the Young "Alkagran". After four years the name was changed into Autumn Music Festival "Alkagran”. During the festival a number of concerts, meetings, public recitals take place both for adults and for children. In addition, there are competitions for instrumentalists and composers.
