Muzyka w Starym Krakowie
International Festival “Music in Old Cracow” was organized in 1975 as an annual event that runs from the middle of August until the end of the month. The Festival is one of the oldest and well-established musical events in the country. Its main goal is to enhance the cultural life of Cracow during the vacation period. The idea is to bring visitors of the city closer to its historical locations by using them as venues for the concerts. Concerts take place in cathedrals, museums, the Salt Mines in Wieliczce, in the Royal Castle on the Wawel hill and in Philharmonic. The program of individual concerts is put together with the diversity of cultural traditions of Cracow in mind. Early music concerts take place alongside the concerts of more contemporary music. Stars of European and world level perform side by side with the Polish artists.
