Festival Description

Founded in 2006, the Tennessee Williams Theater Festival takes place in Provincetown and features performances that celebrate the work and the life of Tennessee Williams. The festival serves to encourage playwrights with Williams’ work as a vehicle to create their own. Provincetown, Massachusetts is known as the longest-running American artist colony where serious modern American drama was born. The program includes plays, film, dance, live music and always Tennessee Williams’ plays. David Kaplan, the festival curator and one of the founding members serves as programming curator and Jef Hall-Flavin is at the helm as festival director.
