Festival Description

Over forty acts perform their music on four different stages—the Main Stage, Workshop Stage, a kid-friendly Family Stage and a newly expanded Dance Stage, with over 8000 square feet of beautiful wooden dance floor under the big tent. Falcon Ridge has always been and remains today a three-day community who shares the tradition and reinvention of folk music and dance. The music at Falcon Ridge is accessible to one and all. American Sign Language is spoken and performances are ASL interpreted.

Although Falcon Ridge has become much more than the music that is played there, the music is certainly the focus of the community. The community was built around the music. People come together to share the music—even the performers say they come to Falcon Ridge for reasons that are far from the usual, reasons that are sometimes difficult to express in an interview or a conversation. A very direct relationship is created with the sharing of song and performance—where even that barrier between performer and audience is barely there. The festival has been running since 1988.
