Festival Description

Each year the festival provides a meeting place for solo musicians and groups of young instrumentalists from local and foreign ensembles to gather and perform classical music. The city of Montevideo provides the venue for the event since its first edition in 2000.

The Festival has two main events in 2009:
  • The 4° Seminario Internacional de Guitarra de Uruguay, including master classes, lectures, book presentation, guitar exhibitions, concerts.
  • The 7° Concurso Internacional de Guitarra Cesar Cortinas, this year in homage to spanish composer Francisco Tarrega. International jury, important prizes.
