Tom Waits Tribute 2013:
  • Folk Collective to perform a special tribute to Tom Waits
    • Tom Waits is one of the most respected and prolific songwriters of all time. He has released dozens of albums since his first release ‘Closing Time’ (1973) right up until his most recent ‘Bad as Me’ (2011). A sonic adventurer and cult performer, his songs have been performed and recorded by everyone from The Eagles to Bruce Springsteen to Peter Gabriel. Not to mention Rod Stewart. Bright Pheobus is a collective based in Sheffield who have been performing and promoting concerts across the city and have ventured south to London once or twice. Regulars include Martin Simpson, Jon Boden, Roy Bailey, Sam Sweeney, Fay Hield, James Fagan and Nancy Kerr - all of whom will be contributing to a special tribute to one of the greatest songwriters of the 20th and 21st centuries at SHREWSBURY FOLK FESTIVAL.

Practical Info:

Camping 2013:
  • There will be more than enough camping spaces for everyone, try not to arrive before 10am on Friday morning. If you arrive early and see people already camping it is because they are part of the setup crew. There will be restricted camping near the river this year because a group of local residents have campaigned with Public Protection (Environmental Health) to have these restrictions made part of our festival licence.
