Festival Description

Les Urbaines is a festival of emerging artists that is held in Lausanne, Switzerland, during the first weekend of December. Founded in 1996, it is focused on innovative, multi-disciplinary and cutting edge propositions by contemporary artists — which are usually difficult to program in Swiss institutions. The trans-disciplinary/multi-disciplinary program presents a rich and diverse array of arts, dance, performance, visual arts, and music. The festival is free and draws more than 5,000+ annual audience.

Among more than 300 projects, the festival has featured works by choregrapher Gilles Jobin, performers Massimo Furlan or Franko B, musicians New Humans, Tes, Ray Lee or Lau Nau, visual artists ON/Stalker, Peter Regli, Ryota Kuwakubo or Raphael Zarka, curators Marc-Olivier Wahler, Fabrice Stroun and Mai-Thu Perret, and produced the Youtube acclaimed Tetris performance by Guillaume Reymond.
