Festival Description

The Association of Harpists and Friends of Harp is an international organization whose members include musicians and friends of the instrument from all over the world. Their mutual goal is to promote and develop harp playing in their respective countries. The Association was established in the 1960s in Paris by the acclaimed French harpist Mr. Pierre Jamet. The harpists of Yugoslavia soon joined, with Mr. Josip Pikelj as president. One of the biggest achievements of the Association is the International Harp Festival, which was established in 2002. Each year, the Festival goes further in promoting the art of playing the harp, and gains more and more devotees and followers.
