Community organizations and Aboriginal elders, and families gather in celebration of their traditional culture. Since 2004 the “Walking with Spirits” Festival has been held at Beswick Falls, near Wugularr in the Northern Territory. The cultural festival features traditional dance and music as well as multimedia exhibits. Tom E. Lewis, the director is an Aboriginal actor, film-maker and musician.
Held in a remote area, the festival venue requires access with a 4WD vehicle (or, visit web site for shuttle bus information) a bit of walking, if not hiking to the site. There will be BBQ and bush toilets, but festival-goers must be self sufficient by hauling in what they’ll need.
