Yunasi Kenya-based afro-fusion band YUNASI take East African music to the world with a positive message of social responsibility. They recently won the BBC World ‘Next Big Thing’ competition and you can see them at the East Coast Blues and Roots Festival in Byron Bay, Australia March 20-24th.

The Mamori Sound Project

Mamori If you are interested in sound experimentation and field recording take note! The Mamori Sound Project is a two week workshop/residency during November/December 2008 at Mamori Lake in the Brazilian Amazon. It will be led by Francisco Lopez, a leader in the experimental sound and art scene. The application deadline is March 31st.

Tango in Warsaw

GP Tango GP Tango duo Guillermo Cerneaz and Paula Rampini represent some of the best New Tango coming out of Argentina. You can see them on their European tour in Warsaw from February 28 - March 6th, and then in Italy and Germany through the rest of March.
