Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival
One of the reasons San Francisco is a destination city? The Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival!
One man’s vision has become a movement — and there’s no better way to move than to great music. Warren Hellman, a well known investment banker and amateur banjo player, created a wide reaching festival that is a perfect inspiration to the Bay area’s club, music and culture life. Hellman, who passed away last December, had turned the leadership over to longtime festival producer, Dawn Holliday.
The line-up for this year’s festival has been a local guessing game by design; organizers have created a mix of songs each week and fans use these musical clues to guess the artist.
Artists confirmed through the game include Elvis Costello, Dwight Yoakam, Buddy Miller, Rubblebucket, and Red Baraat.
