Mariano Dossena: Time and Priestley (English Translation)
This year is the 25th anniversary of J.B. Priestley’s death, and Mariano Dossena, a young Argentine actor, teacher and director, is paying him the best possible homage by staging one of his greatest plays, Time and the Conways, at the Centro Cultural de la Cooperación, located on Corrientes Avenue – the “Broadway” of Buenos Aires.
Mariano Dossena talked with KadmusArts about his first contact with Priestley’s plays and why he greatly admires this “genius and architect of the dramatic structure.” He also explained how he created a feeling of estrangement while starting from within a realist structure, and why he considers it very important to respect the voice of the author.
