Ricky Ian GordonComposer Ricky Ian Gordon has emerged as a leading writer of vocal music that spans art song, opera and musical theater. Gordon’s songs have been performed by renowned singers such as Renée Fleming and Audra McDonald. Recent projects include the musical Sycamore Trees, The Grapes of Wrath, a full scale opera, and Orpheus and Euridice, a song cycle in two acts which premiered at Lincoln Center.

In this podcast Gordon talks about key moments in his life, why it’s important to open yourself to all art forms, and the need for young composers to take on risks.
