Les Paul, the Musician

Les PaulLes Paul will — justifiably — be remembered as the creator of the modern electric guitar sound, as well as for his pioneering work in multitrack recording. However, it is also important to remember that these inventions did not spring from a purely technological background: Les was an accomplished musician in his own right. As a farewell, here is Les live and in the studio over more than sixty years:

It’s A Pity To Say Goodnight (with Les Paul Trio and The Andrews Sisters)
Stardust (with Les Paul Trio)
How High the Moon (with Mary Ford)
Dark Eyes (with Les Paul Trio)
Tiger Rag (with Mary Ford)
Birth of the Blues (with Chet Atkins)
Over the Rainbow (with Lou Pallo, Gary Mazzaroppi)
I’ve Found A New Baby (with Lou Pallo)
Tennessee Waltz (with Lou Pallo, Nicki Parrott)
