Summary of position:
The Production Manager serves as the primary technical contact for all venues and artists contracted with the Capital Fringe Festival including managing the budget for production labor and equipment, interacting with artists’ and venues’ production and technical staff, interpreting artists’ and venues’ technical requirements, providing production estimates, and securing personnel, equipment, and services as needed.


Description

•   Oversees and coordinates technical needs for performances.

•   Generates summary production schedules and distributes as required.

•   Serves as primary technical contact for Fringe run venues.

•   Hires and supervises production personnel, as required.

•   Serves as artist liaison during performances and events, as assigned.

•   Coordinates bidding process for vendors of production and technical services, makes recommendations considering quality, artistic needs, budget, and other factors.


Education and Experience Requirements: Undergraduate degree or equivalent professional experience; theatre or related academic work preferred.

•   3- 5 years related experience with theatre companies, dance companies, performance artists and/or production-related functions.

•   Active working knowledge of all aspects of technical production in the arts disciplines named at all stages of the creative process in a range of venues, from large-scale to black box; including lighting, audio, film, video, and data projection, carpentry and stage rigging.

•   Valid driver’s license; ability to work evenings and weekends.

•   Excellent time management and prioritization skills; ability to think and act quickly in high-pressure environments.

•   Solid computer skills, experience with Vectorworks software preferred.
