Attention All Performers or Non-Performers:
There’s still time!

DCINY’s Performance and Education
“Behind the Scenes” China Tour
 July 13-23, 2009

A Trip For Music and Peace -
China Premiere of Composer Karl Jenkins’
The Armed Man

Commemorating the 30th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic relations between the United States and the People’s Republic of China
Attending a musical premiere of any kind is definitely a "bucket-list" experience for any music lover – so why not participate in one?  DCINY has just the ticket: the China premiere of The Armed Man – A Mass for Peace by world-renown Welsh composer Karl Jenkins.
Maestro Jonathan Griffith will be conducting the exclusive performances with the Jonathan Griffith Singers and the XinYa KongQi Symphony Orchestra at the Forbidden City Concert Hall and the Shanghai Oriental Arts Center.  As conductor and DCINY co-founder, Dr. Griffith invites you to join him for this incredible musical journey of peace – either as a performer or as a behind-the-scenes observer.  There’s still time to be part of this once-in-a-lifetime musical opportunity!
More about Composer Karl Jenkins’ The Armed Man:
"The theme that 'the armed man must be feared' which is the message of the song seemed to me painfully relevant to the 20th century and so the idea was born to commission a modern 'Armed Man Mass'. What better way both to look back and reflect as we leave behind the most war-torn and destructive century in human history, and to look ahead with hope and commit ourselves to a new and more peaceful millennium." - Guy Wilson, Master of the Royal Armouries
More about Maestro Jonathan Griffith and his Singers:
Dr. Griffith made his Carnegie Hall conducting debut in 1989.  Since, his 45-plus Carnegie Hall appearances have spanned major works of the classical repertoire.  His many conducting credits in this country and abroad include the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, Manhattan Philharmonic, and the New England Symphonic Ensemble.  The Jonathan Griffith Singers is an international chorus comprised of individuals from across North American, Europe and Southeast Asia. The Jonathan Griffith Singers is an ideal experience for any choral singer, regardless of age, who would enjoy singing exclusive repertoire with a professional orchestra in prestigious concert halls.
DCINY has arranged an unbelievable $1649 price for the Beijing and Shanghai land package tour with ACFEA – a unique once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for distinguished performers and music appreciators alike to be part of history.
