Electric Zoo welcomes some of New York’s many amazing food trucks to Randall’s Island. Options range from Korean BBQ to organic ice cream. On the ice cream front, look for the “Miss Softee” truck, which often has an Electric Cone special that involves vanilla ice cream, rainbow sprinkles and Pop Rocks.

If you are not sure you can handle the fizzy popping on your tongue, try this amazing Tostada Sundae with Coffee-Caramel Sauce. Bonus: you can eat the cup!

Slushy

One of the many great things about festivals is the excellent people watching opportunities. At Bumbershoot, you can observe the human pageant of 100,000 people looking for the zombie flash mob, speed-walking to the stage where Joey Bada$$ is performing, or looking to get their Vietnamese sandwich fix.

What better accompaniment to your gazing than a Creamy Coffee Slushy? There’s no shortage of excellent coffee in Seattle, and as the recipe indicates, “the stronger your coffee, the better the slushy”.

Edinburgh International Festival has lots of moving parts. From scheduling shows to seeing the city, dining can fall by the wayside. Fortunately there are many fine dining options to choose from. Not far from the Festival Theatre is Spoon, a laid-back cafe where JK Rowling is purported to have started work on Harry Potter. Ghillie Dhu, situated in a former church has lovely Scottish-themed drink and food and is open late to accommodate the post-performance crowd.

Save your cooking for breakfast with Scotch Pancakes, a substantial and satisfying way to start what is sure to be a very long but culturally rich day.

Gimlet

At Wilderness Festival, the gastronomic experience is an important part of your experience. As part of the Feasts & Banquets program, they’ve invited some of London’s most noted chefs to come and create dining experiences. You can sign up for some pretty amazing lunches or dinners, including a Venetian lunch care of Russell Norman and his team at Polpo. For dinner, head to the Souk Dining Tent, where Sam and Sam Clark serve a Moorish-inspired meal that features whole split-roasted lamb from Cornbury Park itself.

With all this great food, all you really need to prepare is a refreshing cocktail to start things off. Raise a toast to all things wild with this lovely refreshing Gimlet.

Camp Bestival is gunning for a Michelin star with its almost endless array of delicious food options. Vendors include Chapati Man, Smoky Garcia, Gourmet Chorizo and The Wild Game Company. So, go to one of these wonderful food purveyors for your main meal and turn to your camp fire for dessert.

Here’s a great take on the classic camping dessert - S’more Quesadillas. Mini-graham crackers, mini-marshmallows and milk chocolate goodness will bring you back to your childhood.
