Festival Story:

Riverdale RiverFest, a free festival to celebrate the Hudson River and promote the future Bronx Greenway, is organized by a coalition of residents and community groups and takes place at the edge of the Hudson River immediately north of your home at the College of Mount Saint Vincent. The festival is designed to be fun, to appeal to the “young,” and to educate attendees about the Hudson River and the Hudson River Greenway, and the history, biology and geology of the area.

The first-ever festival in 2010 was a success and attracted 3000 people. The number of attendees increased to 4,500 in 2011 and to nearly 6,000 in 2012. People of all ages came from the Northwest Bronx and the surrounding areas, congregating at the banks of the Hudson River to celebrate the river, support the Bronx Link of the Hudson Valley Greenway that is under development and to experience firsthand the majesty of the river and the advantages of river access in our community.
