| Festival Description | Tauron Nowa Muzyka (TNM) takes place in Katowice during the last weekend of August at the New Silesian Museum Grounds. The festival offers the opportunity to listen to some of the most intriguing newcomers as well as the biggest headliners of modern electronic music. Having been voted the ‘Best Small Festival’ at the European Festival Awards 2012, Tauron Nowa Muzyka is arguably the best underground electronic music festival you’ve never heard of. Shying away from predictable bookings, TNM pushes the boundaries of this genre to showcase those that innovate within it from special live performances, A/V shows, new collaborations, label showcases and DJ sets. Inhabited in the beautiful Katowice disused coalmine in the Upper Silesia Region of Poland, the area formerly used for industry has been transformed into a real mecca for contemporary music lovers. The old production halls, warehouses, carpentries and the amazing pressure tower prove to be the ideal acoustics for showcasing anything from instrumental nu-jazz to the dark sounds of minimal techno. |
