In this celebration of the label that defined the down-home, funky, sound known as hard bop, the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, led by Music Directors Vincent Gardner and Sherman Irby, will revisit arrangements and unveil innovative new charts of iconic repertoire by Horace Silver, Dexter Gordon, Lee Morgan, and other label greats. The daring young saxophonist JD Allen and JLCO trumpeter Ryan Kisor serve as featured soloists.
