- Swing Brosse System — Jazz Manouche en Famille The gypsy jazz band is formed of the Laurent family from Drôme, France
- Swing Brosse System is a family band that formed in 2009. The children invented the name by using the initials of the member’s first names. It is composed of: Bernard Laurent, Sara Laurent, and their four children — Rachel, Esther, Odenson, and Sacha. The children are pupils of the Music Conservatory of Romans (South of France). Their father introduced them to jazz and more particularly to the gipsy jazz. When they began to play together in 2009, the first purpose was to learn the traditional gipsy repertory (with nevertheless personal arrangements) to be able to play easily with other musicians during jam sessions. At the moment they have a repertory of around thirty pieces. In addition they have begun composing their own pieces inspired by gipsy music and the daughters are now singing. At each opportunity the group performs (in bars, restaurants, hotels) but also in the street. It has allowed them to make unforgettable meetings and to be so invited to play in jazz festivals as it was the case for “Cala Gonone Jazz Festival” in Sardinia.
Next to the magic of the street, there is also a magic of internet! Videos were sent to Asia and resulted then in a tour in China.
