Festival Description

A wild weekend of cabaret, comedy and burlesque to tickle your fancy! New Plymouth is the place to be this Queen’s Birthday Weekend when the best in the cabaret and comedy biz hits the stage! Only 200 tickets are available to each show and there’s only one performance of each show. Tickets are in hot demand so get yours now or you may miss out!

  • UP FRONT AND PERSONAL WITH BUFFY AND BIMBO
    • An outrageous evening with the Queens of song and dance. Sequins, humour, boas, big hair and guest performers - all presented with flair and taste.

  • IN FLAGRANTE
    • In Flagrante, meaning caught in the act is a modern, sassy and beautifully deviant take on today’s burlesque revival. Six exquisite dancers caught in the act with a fetish for leather, nudity in public and a wild equestrian spirit. WARNING: Semi-equestrian nudity.

  • THE DIVINE MISS BETTE
    • Bawdy, brash, and just as fabulous as the original, Alcorn will push all of your boundaries as the divine Miss Bette. As Alcorn says herself: “This show has it all… hitz, glitz, and tremendous tits!”

  • DIE ROTEN PUNKTE in Kunst Rock (Art Rock)
    • Brother and sister duo Otto and Astrid Rot play their take on art rock flavoured with new wave and glam punk and more. Sibling rivalry explodes with musical buffoonery and side-splitting laughs. WARNING: Damn good music with some swearing.

  • DROWNING IN VERONICA LAKE
    • In 1942 Veronica Lake was the hottest discovery in Hollywood. This show captures the rise and fall of one of Hollywood’s most notable pre-war sirens as she battles with the biz, booze, and the wrong men.

  • MIKELANGELO AND THE TIN STAR
    • After years of traversing the globe to great acclaim with the Black Sea Gentlemen and La Clique, the charming coiffured crooner Mikelangelo is roaming the earth with a new posse of swinging gun-slingers - The Tin Star. Surf ‘n’ western, expect plenty of twanging instrumental tunes and tales of love, death and despair.

  • CIRQUE NON SEQUITAR (THE DUST PALACE)
    • From the very edge of reason, the beginnings of the world and the deepest recesses of the imagination, the Dust Palace brings you a deadly, sexy surrealist cabaret. Feats of daring, illusion, seduction and sedition are performed by a luscious troup of gorgeous performers in a smoldering burlesque. WARNING: Aerial acts, use of food and semi-nudity may excite!
