| Festival Description | The opera festival in Kazan was founded in honor of Fyodor Chaliapin in 1982. The festival was founded and is organized by the director, Raufal Mukhametzyanov of the Tatar State Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet Theatre. By 1991 the festival had reached the international level featuring an outstanding roster of participants who have included international stars — singers, actors who have performed in the best theaters of the world. Each festival traditionally ends with gala concerts featuring the stars of world opera. |
