Festival Description

The festival features teams of costumed stiltwalkers in parades and in jousing battles called echasseurs. It is considered one of the oldest traditions in Namur’s folklore. The stiltwakers are accompanied by fifes and drums. The spectacle of agility and strength draws many thousands to Namur each year for a memorable and unique event.
