Festival Description | The Annual French Festival takes place over Bastille Day Weekend in Santa Barbara’s Oak Park. It’s where America celebrates France — the largest French celebration in the Western United States. Dozens of chefs cook up traditional French cuisine — everything from crepes to quiche to Cajun, and of course you will have to sit down and relax with a café au lait enhanced by a decadent dessert or pastry. Enjoy Perrier, Kronenbourg French beer, wine, and champagne. . There will be non-stop entertainment on three stages: cancan, Edith Piaf, Maurice Chevalier, hot jazz a la Django Reinhart, grand opera, French Tahitian dance, Moroccan bellydance, African drumming, the Femmes Fatales Drag Review, accordions, the Poodle Parade, and much more… including a huge Eiffel Tower and lots of activities for children. Admission is Free! |
Festival Dates | July 13 - 14, 2013 |

Festival Story:
Smiling families dine at sidewalk cafés with checkered tableclothes and umbrellas. Starry-eyed couples toast each other with wine. Artists wearing bérets paint at their easels. The air is filled with music, laughter, and the tempting aromas of French cuisine. Surely this must be France?
While Parisians celebrate the French Revolution 8,000 miles away, Californians will revel in the sights, sounds, foods and joie de vivre of France at the largest French celebration in the Western United States. Over 20,000 people are expected to attend. It’s where America celebrates France! Sunday afternoon is the famous Poodle Parade, a promenade of canine topiary under the Festival’s huge Eiffel Tower. C’est magnifique!
