Festival Description | With its performances spread across several communities in France’s Aquitaine region, the Landes Abbeys Festival highlights classical music in amateur, local, and professional forms. Voice, wind instruments, brass, and bowstrings bring to life the religious architecture and homegrown musical talent of the Landes valleys. As part of the Year of Mozart, 2006’s festival highlighted the Magnificat, the Magic Flute, and other highlights of the immortal Austrian’s glowing compositional oeuvre. Haydn, Salieri, Bernstein, and Ravel are just a few of the other talents who rounded out last summers’s roster. |
Festival Dates | June 2 - 30, 2013 |
