Festival Description

The Bonita Blues Charitable Foundation is dedicated to presenting world-class blues music and to providing assistance to local non-profit organizations in southwest Florida that do not have the funding or resources to effectively reach out for donations. All net proceeds from the Bonita Blues Festival are distributed to local charities. One of those charities provides musical instruments to children that can not afford them. The foundation is run entirely by volunteers and there are no paid positions.

The 2011 lineup include such legends as Eddie Shaw from Chicago who used to play with Muddy Waters and Howlin wolf. Others include Joanne Shaw Taylor from the UK, Mel Melton’s zaidaco, Hamilton Loomis who was the inspiration for the Bonita Blues Festival, Victor Wainright, otherwise known as the “Piana from Savana”, the incredible guitar of JP Soars and others. Please check www.bonitablues.com for more information. There is no better place to be in March than southwest Florida.
