The Nagisa Music Festival is an open-air festival that features music from house, techno, trance, reggae, jam-band music, rock and ambient genres. The festival is Earth friendly—electricity for all the stages at Nagisa will be generated by bio-diesel, created by refined secondhand vegetable oil. In previous years the organizers ran the entire show on solar power. The festival takes place two times each year, in the Spring and in the Fall.
The festival takes place rain or shine and features numerous artists gathering in the center of Tokyo bringing a fusion of dance music to the city. People under 20 years of age are not permitted to enter the festival site. The Nagisa Music Festival first took place in 2003 and has drawn audiences numbering 65,000.
