International Theatre and Folklore Festival of the Arts

The International Organisation for Turkic Culture and Arts Development (TURKSOY) and Ministry of Culture and Broadcasting will produce the first festival in 2007 in Ashgabat. The Festival joins dramatic art and folklore by inviting international 400 foreign and national folk artists to take part. Folklore has a remarkable way of introducing our ancestors’ spiritual and aesthetical heritage to today’s audiences—especially young people. Dance, music and the dramatic arts in the context of folklore keeps traditional heritages alive and passes on the profund, sincere and wise nature of ones ancestors to the next generation.
