Festival Description

“Martisor” has long since become one of the biggest musical celebrations in Moldova. It has proved to be a long-standing and persistant event among all other cultural forums in the country. Festival “Martisor” was created in 1966 by the former manager of the National Philharmonic, Alexandru Fedcu and producer Gleb Ceaicovschi. During 40 years of its existence, there were many types of “Martisor”, including folk, classical music, and music performed by young musicians. The shows are free for everyone. The state department covers almost a half of all the expenses, and national and international sponsors make their contribution to create memorable festivals.

Festival Dates March 4 - 6, 2011
