Festival Description | The aim of the Caucasus Rock Fest is to present modern musicians from within the Caucasus region as well as those outside the country. Up-and-coming musicians are provided a venue to perform and provides exposure of their talent. The shared experience of exchange programs and workshops provide an opportunity for research and experimentation of the art form; and to introduce the modern culture of Caucasian countries that is based on traditional folk. The festival serves as a democratic means within a region that is full of local conflicts—where Caucasus, Georgian, Armenian, Azerbaijan, Russian and foreign musicians play together. In addition, the festival shows the world the independent modern culture of the region—which helps in the process of the popularization of Georgia and the whole Caucasus. Millions of TV viewers will enjoy the the event for its positive message—when they have only heard about the Caucasian region as a place of wars, conflicts and terrorists. The media partners of this festival are “MCM” and Russian “MTV”, and also international journalists from different countries—which makes this festival rather important. The festival has been working for 15 years as one of the bases that contemporary culture has been built upon in Caucasus. |
