Festival Story:
The first Göteborg Dance & Theatre Festival was presented in 1994. Since then the festival has been presented every second year the last week of August. The aim of the festival has from the start been to present contemporary performing arts from all over the world, and also to inspire artists and audience to development through personal meetings. The three foundations of the festival are to present contemporary performing arts, to create personal meetings in an inspiring atmosphere and to offer seminars and courses. Those three foundations have been the same since the start and each one is as important as the others. The Göteborg Dance & Theatre Festival is the only international festival in Sweden that presents contemporary performing arts. The keywords are curiosity, inspiration and inclination.
