Festival Description | The Dreaming is an annual festival that has become a vibrant, exciting and valuable destination where local, national and international audiences look forward to indigenous ceremonies along with the most comprehensive showcase of Indigenous arts from across the country and around the world. This three day and four night festival has performing arts venues, bars, Ceremony grounds, galleries, rituals, and campfire story circles. A mass of stalls on the site features a workshop, and food outlets including a five-star food and wine chef challenge. The program also features film and literature components, performing arts, new media and digital technologies, food and wine fare, comedy, exhibitions, performance artists, physical theatre, Visual arts, craft workshops, music program, street performers, musicals and a youth program. The event is presented by the QFF, and under the artistic direction of Rhoda Roberts. |

Practical Info:
Camping:
- You can bring your own tent and bedding and camp in the festival camping areas, or
- You can hire an erected tent with bedding and stay in Tent City. You must purchase your festival camping tickets first before organising your hire costs through Tent City.
- Showers and water are available
How to get there:
- Located in between the Brisbane Valley and Queensland’s beautiful Sunshine Coast Hinterland, The Dreaming takes place in a rural valley surrounded by natural bushland with plenty of native wildlife and a superb view of the Glass House Mountains from the hill-top above the festival grounds. The festival is about an hour and a half drive from Brisbane, or 40 minutes from Caloundra.
- Driving from South
Drive along the Bruce Highway from Brisbane. Turn left through Caboolture along the D’Aguilar Highway to Woodford. Turn right towards Beerwah 1 kilometre after Woodford, travel almost 2 kilometres, then turn left into Woodrow Road. - Driving from North
Turn off the Bruce Highway just past the Caloundra turn-off to Landsborough. Travel to Beerwah, cross the railway line. Turn right, then left onto the Beerwah Road. Drive through Peachester and keep heading down towards Woodford/Kilcoy. Turn right into Woodrow Road 2 kilometres before the road joins the D’Aguilar Highway. There is free parking on the festival site for festival patrons who travel by car.
