Festival Description | Established in 1981, Baroque Signs comprises musical comedy, theatrical and cinematographic events and exhibitions that are of a Baroque quality. The search for this style of art is not confined to the seventeenth century but also includes its later influences and revivals. The town of Foligno celebrates each year the Baroque era that are evident in the architecture of the churches and palaces, and the artistic and literary work that was produced in the area. The organizers have reconstructed the Baroque period through the artistic aesthetics and presented for the public 350 cultural initiatives in music, theater, dance and cinema that encompassed performances, seminars, conferences and laboratories. The event is accompanied by costume parties, tournaments and games. The festival involves musical events, plays, movies and figurative art exhibits all tied to the Baroque period and its subsequent development through the modern era (hyper-Mannerism). |
