The festival honors the silk road—a bridge between the East and th West and a means of cultural, religious, artistic and scientific interaction. Syria is the cradle of civilizations and religions and the meeting place of the silk road caravans which had cultural, human and social interactions. It is a four day dance and music festival that is held in September with performances by Syrian troupes. Syrian cities are beautifully decorated and ornamented with bright colours during the evenings of the silk Road festival in order to commemorate unforgettable moments through artistic, sports and musical shows coming from different countries of the silk Road, creating magical moments.
