Festival Description | In 2006 “Classic in Safed”, established a tradition of great music in one of Israel’s most magical cities, and joined the world in celebrating Mozart’s 250th Birthday with a Mostly Mozart program. Mozart’s music, at the center of the festival, enables us to immerse in dreams of musical perfection while at the same time connect to the music of Bach, Beethoven, Schubert and contemporary composers. The festival continued its commitment to featuring Jewish composers—and entrusted this to the Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra, the principal guest at the first edition. The SCO, the world’s oldest, and one of the best, chamber orchestra’s, active over 60 years in Germany and all over the world, has played with the world’s greatest soloists and under the baton of the world’s greatest conductors. |
